It is a forum of religious cult survivors, there are many here who are good researches and deep thinker, this is self-evident. Many have spent their entire lives focused on religion – all be it a blinkered view. I understand if you feel a bit bewildered by discussion of such a foreign ideology as the WT has been little help – they have not published an honest article on the topic since 1951

Last year he was given a suspended sentence for endangering a fair trial. This year he did the same thing again, and is serving 13 months (original sentence plus sentence for reoffending).
He’s gotten exactly what he deserved.

if anyone takes the time to research the cases in addition to the fact some pretty marginal Muslims (i.e. they weren’t pillars of the Muslim community) didn’t get reported by their own community, the girls were failed by the parents, the police and social workers.
We can all get rightfully angry about sexual predators but the majority of the news coverage has failed to highlight the fact these girls were treated appallingly by those meant to protect them.
The good muslims don’t report the evil, they say nothing because they know under the laws of islam it is OK to treat unbelievers this way and to speak up would mark them as an apostate.
How did we come to know about this scandal, the rapes and terrible exploitation of thousands of young girls and the multi agency multi decade cover up??
We know about this now because Tommy and a few others put it all on the line and spoke up, he spoke up for his children and ours and for this, he is a political prisoner.

by Anders Andersen intoday the dutch house of representatives unanimously voted to petition the government to start an investigation into jw child abuse issues.. the request from the house of reps. came after jw nl refused to listen to repeated and serious requests from the government to start an independent investigation themselves.. now it's up to the government to either accept the request by the house of reps. and start an investigation, or refuse to do so and explain to the house why.
it appears the minister of justice is not unwilling to start an investigation though.... collection of dutch news items here.

Doubter, here is another way to look at it, where I live in Australia we have very strong work place health and safety laws that are designed to reduce on the job accidents and injuries.
As an employer I must have documented operating procedures and systems in place to identify and eliminate unsafe work practices, for the benefit of my workers.
If one of my workers suffers a serious injury or killed at work and it can be traced back to an unsafe machine or a unsafe work method etc that could have been made safe, then I would be in the line of fire for negligence.
How is the WTB$ any different, their policy is "oh you got hurt at work, have you got two witnesses?... sorry" and your report joins the huge bulge under the carpet.

Branding somebody as a racist is a classic tactic of the left that is used to slander and discredit somedody when you are unable to counter their argumet.
I'm surprised that you should fall for that one as all of us here as "mentally diseased apostates" are targets of a very similar attack.

Well said Jo Ho, I have seen countless people reduced to mental jelly, drink way too much, fall into chronic fatigue or suffer in other terrible ways due to the alert fatigue and ideological strait jacket imposed by this bunch of clowns.
About 25 years ago I was having a serious discussion with an elder that brushed on this topic, I said " I think that about half of the women that I know here are on anti depressants"... He let slip when he said "actually it is about 65%".
